AnnouncementsCEQA Guidelines Update - Revisions to Section 15126.2 for Public Input 10-21-2016
The Governorís Office of Planning and Research seeks your input on revisions to Section 15126.2(a), responding to the California Supreme Courtís decision in California Building Industry Association v. Bay Area Air Quality Management District (2015) 62 Cal. 4th 369. These revisions specifically address the requirement to analyze hazards that a project may risk exacerbating. Please submit any comments on this set of revisions by November 21, 2016. The proposal and instructions for submitting comments are available.
SB379, Jackson Draft Implementing Text Released for Public Review 10-21-2016
In accordance with the requirements of Senate Bill 379, Land Use: General Plan: Safety Element (Jackson), OPR developed Draft language to incorporate Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience in the Safety Element of the General Plan Guidelines. Please review the DRAFT Safety Element section of the General Plan Guidelines. Additional information on the General Plan Guidelines update process and the Draft Guidelines released in its entirely in November 2011 can be found here: https://www.opr.ca.gov/s_generalplanguidelines.php . The release of the final General Plan Guidelines document, including changes to the Safety Element to respond to SB379, will occur in late 2016.read more...
Brown Administration Announces Updated Actions To Accelerate Zero-Emission Vehicle Adoption, Reduce Carbon Emissions 10-12-2016
As part of a 10-year plan to reduce carbon emissions at the state level, the Brown administration today announced an ambitious new effort to get high-polluting cars off the road by increasing zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) purchases and ramping up efforts to install charging infrastructure at state facilities. read more...
