The Office of Planning and Research (OPR), created by statute in 1970, is part of the Office of the Governor. OPR serves the Governor and his Cabinet as staff for long-range planning and research, and constitutes the comprehensive state planning agency.

Notice of Availability of a Preliminary Discussion Draft of Changes to the CEQA Guidelines  08-13-2015
The Governorís Office of Planning and Research is pleased to invite your review of a preliminary discussion draft of updates to the CEQA Guidelines. These potential updates address a wide array of topics suggested to OPR in response to its Solicitation for Input during the Summer of 2013. A copy of the preliminary discussion draft, along with other background information, is available here: http://opr.ca.gov/s_ceqaguidelines.php. Please note, this draft does not reflect changes currently under consideration pursuant to Senate Bill 743 (transportation impacts). Notice of a revised draft of those changes will be issued separately. We look forward to your input. Please submit all comments by October 12, 2015, to CEQA.Guidelines@resources.ca.gov. Notices of any workshops will be posted on OPRís website and this listserv.



California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine Funds Two Demonstration Projects  08-03-2015
Governor Brown announced the creation of the California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine in April to improve understanding of disease and spur public-private collaboration. The two-year initiative is being hosted by UC San Francisco in conjunction with UC Health. One of the initiativeís main objectives is to execute two research projects that will demonstrate the power and application of precision medicine. read more...
